Baked Pears

Baked pears make a wonderfully warm treat that's so easy to bake. You can serve it warm or cold.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 pears
  • 2 tbsp honey or agave syrup
  • 3 tbsp cacao butter
  • 1 tsp crystallized ginger
  • ¼ cup dried apricots

Instructions
 

  • Soak apricots and ginger in warm water for 15 minutes
  • Preheat oven to 190 °C. Peel the skin from each of the pears and core. Blend ginger and apricots until roughly chopped. Fill core holes with ginger apricot mix. Remove bottom of pears so that they are flat on the bottom and stand straight up. Place the pears in a deep baking dish and drizzle with butter and honey. Cover dish with foil. Create slits in the foil to allow air to escape.
  • Cook for about 1 hour, basting the pears with the sauce a few times. Prior to serving, baste pears again with excess sauce.
